About the Author
Cindy has spoken nationally on topics including collaborative leadership styles, affordable housing, and the development of new neighborhoods. Her projects, including the Holiday Neighborhood, have won national awards and recognition, including the 2008 Top Ten Neighborhoods in the County by Cottage Living Magazine and were profiled in Sustainable Urbanism: Urban Design with Nature (Wiley 2007) and Simple Prosperity: Finding Real Wealth and a Sustainable Lifestyle (St. Martin’s Griffin 2007). She has been interviewed by newspapers, magazines, on the radio and for TV News and has been profiled on the local cable station and in a public TV documentary.
Cindy and her organization, Boulder Housing Partners, have been recognized by the Boulder Business and Professional Women as “Program of the Year” and by the Colorado Chapter of Business and Professional Women as “Employer of the Year” for the promotion of opportunities for women. She is the author of numerous magazine articles on business and housing development topics including “They’re Bolder in Boulder” in the June 2004 edition of Planning Magazine. She is the author of Lessons from Nature in Healing, Strength, and Flexibility, which is focused on gaining confidence through experiences in nature, and has lead workshops, hikes, and other related events. She contributed a section the new edition of Day Hikes in the Taos Area. She has taught Real World Planning and Housing Policy at the University of Colorado at Boulder College of Architecture and Planning and is an active volunteer for programs supporting the rights of women and children.
